Time With God

How much time have you spent with God lately? Have you ever wondered whether God is bothered by how little time we spend with Him? I mean real quality time, unhurried time, time where you aren’t distracted. Do you think, perhaps, that the little time we spend with Him might bother Him?

Have you ever considered what God’s posture is toward you? Posture means a particular approach or attitude.

When it comes to your life, the things that matter to you, what is God’s posture towards you? Does He lean away from you or does He lean towards you? The answer is pretty clear…He sent you His Son. He sent His Spirit to dwell in you. He knows everything that’s going on in your life. He cares. He hears the cry of your heart.

God’s preferred posture is very definitely to lean into your life.

And yet, all too often, our response, our posture towards God, is to lean away from Him. No time to pray, to pause, to listen. No time to read His Word, chew it over or study it in any great detail, but plenty of time to spend on a smartphone or tablet.

Unfortunately, all too often, our posture is to lean away from God.

Revelation 21:3 says…And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.

God’s heart is for you. You are His passion. His posture is to lean toward you. Do yourself a favour. Lean into God today.
