Have you ever wondered what is going on in your life and asked the Lord…why? I know I have many times. Unfortunately, if you are anything like me, more often than not there is no answer and we are left wondering.
Being left in that state of not understanding or knowing why you are going through a certain situation or circumstance can be frustrating – but does it change or alter your beliefs or core foundations? Hopefully not!
The passage in Proverbs 3 is well known, but how well do we really apply it in our lives?
Prov 3:5-6 says…
‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.’
Do we really trust God with our lives in the way we should for everything? Trusting in God is to have a total confidence of truth and reliability in Him. It is a conscious dependence on Him with everything you have and for everything you need.
We can be pretty self-sufficient at times and rely on our own skills, abilities, etc. to get through life. But the Lord is asking us to lean on Him for support, to rely on Him and not ourselves. If we can do that, then through everything He will direct our path. He will lead and guide you through life, through your adversities.
Knowing that, maybe we would stop asking Him ‘why’ so often and give our faith and trust in Him an opportunity to grow. I pray that this week you will find a new level of trust in God and lean on Him for your strength and acknowledge Him in everything you do.
