Sharing The Love

Christmas can be a wonderful time of year, but unfortunately for many it is not.  Whilst we enter into the ‘silly season’ let us take a moment to look outside of our own surroundings and share the love of Jesus with someone.  After all, Christmas is all about the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.  What an open door to tell someone the ‘reason for the season’.

Our Father loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son. John 3:16 says… For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. But for Jesus to die on the cross for each of us, He first had to be born.

The birth of Jesus is to be celebrated.  I know that the origins of Christmas, as the world knows it, is filled with pagan festivals but if we are able to put that aside for a moment and understand that regardless of that, Jesus was born into the world to save the world.  Let us use this time as an opportunity to share, not only His love, but love to others in practical ways.

This is a blessed time of year. A time to spend with family and friends.  A chance to look back at the year past and thank God for His many blessings. But also a time to get excited at what He has in store for each of us in the New Year.

Share some love to those around you this year.  Be bold and be brave.  Don’t hold back on being generous.  Jesus showed His love by giving us everything – may we give what we have received.

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and a wonderfully blessed New Year.
