Does God Love Me?
Jer 31:3 says….“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with loving-kindness I have drawn you.”
As you read the Bible, you will find love to be the dominant attribute of God. God is love and the promises of His love and forgiveness are very real. If you thought about the beauty of the ocean, how could you fully grasp its beauty without actually seeing it? It is the same with God’s love. Until you actually experience it, no one can adequately describe its wonders and beauty to you.
Never question God’s great love for you, for it is an unchangeable part of God, His love for us is everlasting.
Life can sometimes hit us with the most unexpected and undesirable circumstances. When that happens, shock and pain might make us wonder, Does God really love me?
First of all, we know from 1 John 4:8 that “God is love,” which means His very nature is characterised by compassion, concern, mercy and love. This truth, combined with the reality that God is holy, means He is perfect in His love—He’ll never make a mistake in the way He loves us.
Second, we know that our heavenly Father loves us, because He calls us His children. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.“, says John 1:12 . It would be completely against His character to mistreat any of His children. He loves you.
Finally, God gave the ultimate and unmatched demonstration of His love at the cross. We were all dead in our sins, but Christ went to the greatest length possible to give us life. Jesus came to earth as an expression of His Father’s infinite love and did for us what no one else could do.
Just from these three short points about God’s love, how could we not expect Him to take care of even the smallest details of our life? God is love and His love for you is everlasting.
